UNFINISHED BUSINESS (OCTOBER 2012)
i hadn’t originally planned this comic as being part of a series. at the time, i was burned out by a demanding motion design job, had been diagnosed with severe depression, and was constantly overwhelmed by life in new york city. it’s an old story (see the last verse of That’s Not Me by the Beach Boys), but when it happens to you, it feels still like the entire universe has collapsed.
in any case, the first comic had become a refuge in my mind. it was a sheltered corner i could escape into, a first little drop of self-awareness that emerged after everything had been lost. it was natural then that the comic would expand, and i wanted morton to have a friend.
